Breaststroker Eli Greinke Stays Local, Chooses Kentucky

NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Eli Greinke of Lexington, Kentucky, has opted to remain close to home for his college career after committing to the Wildcats for Fall 2024.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am excited to announce my commitment and grateful for the opportunity to further my academic and athletic career at the University of Kentucky! I’m so thankful for the support of my family, coaches, teammates and friends along the way. GO CATS!”

Greinke trains year-round with Kentucky Aquatics and won the 200 breast while taking second in the 100 breast at the Kentucky 13&O Championships in March. He raced both breaststroke events at Juniors East back in December and was a three-time finalist at the NCSA Championships last summer.

His best times include:

  • 100 breast – 55.47
  • 200 breast – 2:02.49
  • 200 IM – 1:55.57
  • 50 free – 21.76

Currently a junior at Henry Clay High School, Greinke was the runner-up in the 100 breast at the 2024 Kentucky State Championships where he also took 10th in the 50 free. He finished seventh in the 100 breast at the state meet during his sophomore season.
